Headwear Development Notes
Notes from day-to-day headwear development: the files buyers send, the questions that hold up a sample, and the decisions we need in writing before production moves forward.
Most of these notes come from ordinary points in a project where we had to stop and ask for something specific. Sometimes it was the vector artwork. Sometimes the cap was well described in an email, but a reference photo was still needed before we could price it properly. We have kept those details because they are more useful to a buyer than a generic overview of OEM production.
Notes from the development desk
What the Mockup Had to ShowA buyer asked for the existing specification, artwork, snapback details and perforation pattern to be reflected before moving on.
What Was Reviewed for ManufacturabilityConstruction changes, material substitutions and risk observations were treated as proposed changes requiring written approval.
When Artwork Files Block the Next StepTwo projects where final vector artwork was needed before technical review, mockup or quotation work could continue.
Detailed Specification, Missing FilesA buyer had closure and interior-construction requirements ready, but the accurate quote still needed artwork and reference material.
Prototype and Bulk Facility CheckOne buyer asked directly whether sample development and bulk production would stay in the same facility.
Cotton Short-Brim Cap DevelopmentWhat the six-panel crown, short visor, snapback and inside finishing reveal before a cotton cap moves to bulk production.
